Because we will be spending a lot of time together this year, I thought I'd tell you all a little more about myself...

My name is Margaret Mary Zirngibl, and I was born in Waukegan, IL to my loving parents, Mark and Margaret Mary.  Growing up the youngest of four children in my family, I understand the difficulties and responsibilities that come with having siblings in a big family.  We grew up in small town, Williams Bay, WI which is located in southeastern Wisconsin near Lake Geneva.

I went to St. Francis de Sales Parish School in Lake Geneva for grade school, and I attended Williams Bay Public High School.  Graduating with less than 40 students in my class, I can now say that living in inner city Milwaukee for the last 5 years has been such an eye opening, and rewarding experience for me to broaden my perspective on life.  When I went to Marquette University in the fall of 2006 on a full ride Evans Scholarship through the Western Golf Association, and I finally began pursuing my dream of teaching.

For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to become a teacher.  Because I absolutely love interacting with people, I knew I could never sit at a desk all day and blankly stare into a cubicle for the rest of my life.  Coming from a family of teachers, I almost knew from the start that I was mainstreamed into education, as my father still teaches at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield, WI, and my mother teaches at Big Foot High School in Walworth, WI.  Aside from wanting to be a teacher, English has always fascinated me because (unlike math and science) I felt I could incorporate my artistic creativity and critical thinking abilities into any English work, as it can often be interpreted in various ways.  I loved knowing that "there was no right answer," and I think that many of you would agree that one can truly focus on meaningful learning when one's anxiety level is decreased and no worries are needed.

My philosophy of education mainly stems from my hope that all of you will meet and surpass your personal goals and expectations.  I sincerely wish all of you the best of luck this year, and know that I will be available at your convenience.
